where being tone deaf helps

  Home

Music is so important to little ones. It may not seem like they are absorbing a word when you sing "twinkle twinkle," but the minute you are in the car or they are in their play area you hear a somewhat squeaky version of the song you have been singing non-stop for days (stuck, like one of those T.V. jingles). Sure enough, soon it starts just with one verse, then the whole monotone version starts belting out of them all the time. It's priceless!

Most of these songs are fingerplays for babies to preschoolers. Fingerplays are songs that you sing while using your hands to express the words. Some are traditional songs that you couldn't remember the words to. Change the words to mix it up - have fun and your child will too!
